The Pug Love Boat Cruise - Sunday, July 19, 11 am - 2:30 pm THE pugalug event of the season has been booked. We will be having a 3 hour cruise on Sunday, July 19th. Boarding will begin at 11 am and we will "hoist anchor" at 11:30 (the captain and crew will be on hand to greet everyone at the gangway) We will return to the dock at 2 pm and we have to be off the boat by 2:30 pm (I know Odin will be begging the chef til the bitter end) Pugs are optional. If you want to come and just chat with fellow pugaluggers then you are most welcome. If your pug is the velcro kind then you can certainly bring you pug on the cruise. Pugs will remain on leash. The deck is completely safe and sealed so there is no danger of shouting "Pug Overboard". Pugs will remain on the top deck while the brunch is being served. Once the food is put away, pugs have complete control of the boat (scary thought - we may end up in Montreal or Buffalo) Tickets are $50 and include the cruise, brunch, music and Pug Twister games (just kidding on the last one). There will be a cash bar for toasting the wonderful world o' pugs. This is going to be a one time only opportunity. It is an event of pure fun - no raffles, merchandise or increased costs. It's Pugalug's way of saying "Thank you" for your continual support of our efforts We will not be having Pug Island this year - The Pug Love Boat will be the replacement. Tickets can be purchased at any Pugalug, plus I will have an online option through Paypal and can mail the ticket to you. And if, by chance, we end up on Gilligan's Island, I can't think of a better bunch of people to be with then you all. You can also pay my cheque or money order by making it payable to Pugalug Pug Rescue and sending it to: So, everyone, please come on out and enjoy the glorious July summer on the Mariposa Showboat, enjoy some delicious food. The 3rd Annual Polliwog Pugalug When - Sunday, August 2, 1 - 3 pmWhere - Canine Wellness Centre, 45 Cranfield Road, Unit 5 Admission - $10 per pug entry fee. Space is limited The Canine Wellness Centre is the healing place where both Daisy and Glory went for the rehabilitation therapy after their hip operations. Not only will the pugs be able to do the usual sniff and greet but will be able to go for a swim in the pool. CWC has a regular recreational swim each week but this will be pugalug's special time. Have your pugs been stuck in the house due to the heat - putting on a few extra pounds? This is a great opportunity to give your pug exercise, have some fun, and put a much rewarding smile on your face. And the Canine Wellness Centre is air-conditioned This will be in conjunction with Canine Wellness Centre. There is limited space so we are taking reservations for 20 pugs. Tani and Tara of the CWC will be our hosts for the afternoon.
Here is Tania's description of the Canine Wellness Centre: The afternoon will focus around our pool where you can enjoy watching all your best pug friends swim. It doesn't matter if you have a canine with exceptional swimming ability or want to teach your dog how to swim, we are experienced with all levels of ability. We will have one dog swim at a time and to ensure safety we require the use a life jacket initially, If your dog seems to be a natural we will take off the life jacket and let them swim "naked". In our experience even dogs who love swimming in the lake, an indoor pool is a new experience that can be a little bit challenging for the first couple of minutes. For dogs that have companions, and are comfortable in the water, we may allow them to swim together. For those of you waiting your turn, you can stand at the sidelines and cheer for your best buddy, or chat in our heated space and let your dog wander around the facility to meet and greet and do what pugs love best...socialize. |
