The surgery went well. The stones were calcium oxilate(sp?) so it's no wonder they did not dissolve. The technician told me his bladder was quite raw and angry looking. Poor guy. It took about 1 hour to extract his broken tooth and they found a tumour on his hind leg the morning of the surgery. Of the 3 levels of severity the tumour was type 2 but the vet believes its been removed completely. I can't believe how well he's doing post surgery. I need to follow up with the vet about diet recommendations. He'll stay on the SO but she has some other suggestions as well. All in all, Kilo's on the mend.

Man, that boy has been through the wringer.  I'm assuming the tumour was an MCT?

Would be worth chatting with Hilary as there's some interesting research on stones--not sure if it's calcium oxalate or not--that the Whole Dog Journal has been writing about.

Kilo is ready to adopt!  Good luck buddy!

I've met him a few times at the pugalug's and can tell you first hand that he's a real sweetheart -- and a great photographer's assistant too!

He hasn't had a single application that I'm aware of.  Drives me nutty.  He's a great guy.

Kilo is a total sweetheart ... if we hadn't have adopted Coop he would be the pug we would have adopted!  He was my photo assistant last year at the Pugalug where I took the santa pictures, and he was a great helper too!
