We were longtime lurkers who found Dodger's story on another rescue site (Under My Wing, I think) and followed hoping all would work out for him. We joined when we learned he went to the Bridge, so we can leave our condolences.  He sounded like a great old boy and he would have been neat to know.

I am Willard, and I am a 7 year old pug living in downtown Houston. I was rescued by the Houston SPCA during a filming of Animal Cops Houston (so you know my story does not start out a pleasant one) and a pug rescue here (Pughearts) took me in. I was a wreck until the rescue took me in and fixed me up.  I was in demand (mostly for the celebrity status) when a cat owning engineer took me in....and is now an official pug addict. She now helps foster pugs, and may be moving to adopt an old puggy girl who is passed over due to advanced age. She deserves a nice home for the rest of her days though, so hope I get a new sister.

Welcome Willard and Faith.  Many of us in Pugalug know lots of Texas rescue folks--through various pug forums.  Glad you joined us.  I get pretty regular updates from DFW Pug Rescue and Homeward Bound in Oklahoma.  I see PugHearts folks on line at other pug forums.
Sounds like your life, Willard, has improved dramatically.

Hiya Willard, and a hello from under My Wing, where I volunteer.  I'm into the fundraising end, since everyone in my family thinks I'd never give back any fosters. Grin

Hello from Belle and Beau, rescue pugs from the Gatineau SPCA, and Dixie, Poodle/JRT mix.  And Ripley, the Pug-a-Tzu (ex St. Hyacinthe Animal Refuge)

Welcome Willard (and Faith) - you look so serious or maybe sleepy in your avatar photo. I am very glad you have a new home and start on life and maybe soon a new sister too.

Will has 3 kitty siblings; the one he is resting with is Gabby; I suspect she has cancer because she has become skin and bone and several thousands worth of bloodtests came up "inconclusive" with slightly elevated thyroid (pills did nothing) and slightly elevated calcium (which can indicate cancer.)  She is old though (at least 13, but maybe much older) and as long as she is happy she will remain with us. Animals have an uncanny way of showing us that they need help to the Bridge; I dread that, but I promised them that when they let me know it was time I would do the kindest thing.

I got word from Homeward Bound that I was approved to bring Will a puggy sister.  I will be flying up hopefully next weekend to pick her up; ah the perks of working for an airline. Cheesy Not sure how long she will be with us as she is a little old lady too, but she will be loved for the remainder of her days, and flying first class to boot.

Congratulations on your new puggy girl!  I'm sure she will spend the remainder of her golden years living in style with you and Willard.

And a belated welcome to the forum from Darwin and Ada! Smiley
