Well, we don't see the "well bred" pug very often and I find that most of the BYB/Puppy mill pugs are often long legged, lean built with more of a muzzle than most pugs.  Don't make them any healthier, sadly.  Pippin being a case in point.

So yes, the rescue sees a lot of long legged pugs.

That explains it, thought it was odd to see all the long legged I've been seeing lately...

We do get the rare pug that is to the standard.  Molly was Gorgeous and VERY close to the breed standard.  What she was doing being sold in a flea market is anyone's guess.  Emi is not too far off the standard either--although her health issues continue to be frustrating.

What health issues is poor Pippin facing?

I think Emi has the most beautiful face and wrinkles.

Pippin was surrendered due to seizures.  He's on meds, but we still don't know the cause of the seizures.

At this point he's not presenting like a PDE dog and liver shunt has been ruled out.  He's seeing a neurologist at the VEC on Wednesday and hopefully we will know more after that.  He hasn't had any seizures since he started the phenobarb so we'll see how it goes.

Hopefully the meds may be the solution.

What a cutie, I love his name.  I hope that they get the seizures under control, could it be hypoglycemia if he is under weight?  Is he going to Dr Cochrane?

Who knows what the deal is, Diane.  He was being fed Ol' Roy (great--rotten food for any dog, much less a puppy).  He had three pretty close together and hasn't had any since being on Phenobarb.  Hard to know what the cause is, but we suspect epilepsy at this point.

and yes, we're seeing Dr. Cochrane

Eeew!  Ol' Roy?!?!?  Isn't that the one that's full of corn millings and rendered "meat"?  Tongue
