Thank you Candace for putting Emi first and giving her 8 months of love and kindness.
We'll be thinking of you both tomorrow, and lighting a candle for Emi.
Run free at the Bridge little girl, we'll miss you.

Candace, I am so so sorry...I am reading all of this for the first time and it is such a shock.  I know how much you have done for Emi and my heart just breaks for her and you.  I know that you know what the right thing to do is but it doesn't make it any easier.  you have given her the best last few months.  I'll be thinking of all of you tomorrow.

I am so sorry - this is so very hard on everyone. She is a beautiful little girl who will soon be pain free, test free, vet free and running free. My thoughts are with her and you Candace.

If money, medicine, technology and good care could have cured Emi, she'd be the healthiest dog in the world, but some things just can't be fixed and it isn't fair to wait until she's truly miserable--and she's headed that way---to let her go.

It was a shock for us too. Even though, I knew in my heart that it might come to this.
My daughter is just heart broken. She spent much of the night crying, saying it isn't time...not yet. She said it is okay when fosters leave.....they go to good homes, but this is not fair! Knowing that this adorable girl, will leave but not to a loving forever home, is really hard.
Please know that the rescue has done everything possible and then some.
I am not sure how my daughter will ever get over this, even though she knows it is the only caring thing left to do.

Oh Candace - so sorry that this is the news... as Blanche said if all the good care available to her has not been able to cure Emi its just not meant to be. She could not have had better care or more love and joy than she has had in the last 7 and a half months with you and your family.

Its the right thing to do as hard as it is  - my thoughts are with you today.

It's so heartbreaking but obviously tho only option at this point. The months that we have had the privilege to share the stories, photos, videos and happy times with Emi will be in our memories as she takes the next step in her journey.

Our thoughts are with you Candace, your family and everyone who did so much for this little girl.  We will light a candle and say a prayer for you all.

I found this photo that I took at the first pugalug we took Pugsley to, met Dave and saw Emi......

I found this photo that I took at the first pugalug we took Pugsley to, met Dave and saw Emi......

I remember that day. It was at Canine Wellness. Emi wasn't feeling well. She had a bad bladder infection with blood in her urine.

I'm so sorry to hear this news.  It's just the hardest thing to do, even when we know it is the kindest and rightest decision.  I admire all the foster mom and dads and the pugaluggers who have to make these decisions.  I know you have made the best decision for her - all of you at the rescue always do.  Much love and hugs to everyone, especially your daughter xoxox

OMG this is so awful for everyone involved!

I was just reading Emi's profile the other day and thinking what a cute dog she was and how great of pugalug to put so much effort into one dog.

Candice I am so sorry that you are going through this, you and your family will be in my thoughts.
You and Emi both are brave loving souls.
May you be paid back 100 fold with good Karma for helping Emi.

With a tear in my eye I have to post to tell you all that Emi has gone to the rainbow bridge today.  Run free little Emi!

A final post and a note from her foster family has been added to her page.
