Soory--I've been out for most of the day.

Yes, the news is better.  She is listed as Critical, but Stable.  She is still not out of the woods by any means, but at least she's stable for the first time.

Thanks Blanche. Glad to hear the good news!

Is Roxane in a state of consciousness that it would make a difference for her to hear that Pug lovers everywhere are sending healing thoughts, prayers, energy? There is some very interesting research in health care that associates having groups of people praying for someone, even if they are not aware, with better outcomes. This research isn't one off wingnut lunacy but double blind clinical trials done by reputable researchers in the US.

More healing thoughts and energy being sent to Roxane in her "critical but stable" state and hoping that she continues to improve so that can publish her book and continue to save Pugs and do whatever else brings her joy.

Yes, Joanne, she is surrounded by fellow pug-lovers who are reading forum posts of support to her.  I am sure they have been instrumental in her improvement, as has the visit of her beloved pug Betty.  Betty stayed for about 2 hours. The last 20 minutes of the visit, pug snores could be heard throughout ICU.

Thanks for posting that, Hilary.

She's heavily sedated due to all the equipment she's on, but is somewhat responsive.

I applaud the ICU for realizing the benefit of a dog cuddle.  I swear it always makes me feel better.

I know my sister (a nurse) has looked the other way when dogs are brought for visits.  She knows too.

I'm still carrying Roxane in my thoughts.  The world needs more like her.

Continued healing thoughts for Roxane.  I think it is incredible that they allowed her baby Betty in for a visit.

Thanks Hilary for posting earlier about Roxane. The sound of Pug snoring in an ICU. That has to be one of the most healing images I can imagine. Continued thoughts and energy to Roxane from this part of the world.

She remains critical, but stable.  Her various levels (BP, kidney function, etc) are a bit better each day.  She is still on a ventilator and heavily sedated, but she is making slow steady progress.

A week ago, we were preparing to say good bye to her so all of this is good news.

Sending Roxane, in her sedated state, dreams of all things that bring light to her life and give her the extra strength she needs to continue to transcend. There will be special energy sent to her from our Pugtoria gathering in Bowmanville Ontario Canada today!

Roxane is holding her own but still hasn't opened her eyes.  She was scheduled for a tracheostomy a couple of hours ago since she has been on a ventilator for 14 days and we're waiting for post-op news.
