I don't know if this is the best place to post or not, so if the mods wanted move, its ok by me.

I am fishing around to try and buy (cheap!) or borrow a dog stroller for Belle, in advance of the Ottawa Howl-o-Ween.

Her old hips get tired and that leads to my old arms getting tired. Wink

If you hear of one going cheap (or free!)  I'd sure appreciate it.  I am also willing to negotiate for handmande dog items:  knitted sweaters etc....

Belle is 20lbs or so.  It would be great if it was fairly silent when rolling, as she is blind, and timid, and the weird noise tends to spook her.  I tried a hollow-wheeled wagon, but the rumbly sound was a problem.

My thanks!!

Lizz

Lizz:
I think Vicki found one for her pug on craigslist or kijiji--might be worth checking out.

I've been checking our local versions:  but I thought I'd widen my net....and who better to have a pug stoller, than pug lovers? Smiley

LOL.  Might be worth checking with Genevieve and see if any of her contacts have one you could borrow or purchase.  I think my Pug Waggin would be too noisy for Belle.

I think Maureen bought hers from Winners, the price seemed reasonable.

 Hi Lizz,

not sure what your budget is.......

I know I went extreme for the boys but I had some
criteria that needed to fit the bill b4 I bought
theirs!

~ easy handling in snow and different  terrain ie soft
Ground or rocky
~ quiet as you said, Pugsley still hates to be confined but
it couldn't be noisy as he too is visually impaired and I didn't
want to stress him too much
~ light weight and easy to pop up with one hand whilst
the other might be busy Wink
~ locking wheels that were accessible by foot as well as easy
to lock and unlock with foot whilst hands were otherwise
occupied Wink
~ storage area for all important treats, baggies, water & bowl
+ for the servant a cup holder for a drink because hands are
otherwise engaged in  4 legged work
~ possibility of holding 2 pugs  for short lengths of time
(especially if they are both tired or Wink the owner needs a short
break)  Wink

In other words Wink don't forget your comfort level in this too!

I decided on the 3 wheel buggy with alterrain wheels and have
NOT regretted the price  one bit!
especially  as you say; holding a pug for any length of time can
be detrimental to your arms; I too found that  out  while attending
Paws Way one  time.  The larger terrain wheels are a breeze going
through rough patches of snow  where as I've heard that the
4 wheels are a bit more harder to manuever!

Look around and make sure you are comfortable with the stroller.
Check out Global and PetSmart to do instore manuevering of  different
styles so that you can judge which best suits the both of you Smiley
Google strollers too! That's  how I got started!

Hope this helps Smiley
Pugsley loves  to get out yet and I hate leaving him; so
this was a godsend for us!
