Bugsy is doing well, his bandaid is off (thanks in part to him!) and there's been no further bleeding from it.  It looks pretty good ... it still seems a bit tender but it's not slowing him down much at all.

He was really unimpressed with the bandaid though, that's for sure!  He's mostly back to his normal self now though, thanks for all the healing vibes.  I'm taking him back in for the last check on it on Monday just to make sure it's all ok but I think he'll do fine from here on.

Well his nail fell off this morning.  I was kind of hoping that it would .. it was really crooked, but also really solid when the vet checked it last.  I knew it was funky, but it just wasn't to budge either when it first happened or when he was last checked by the vet.  There was no blood involved when it finally did fall off and he's not even tender around where it was (still tender under his paw where the split is).  He's a trooper this one, he barely even noticed that it happened and really doesn't care that his mom and dad keep poking around at his paw (as long as we don't mess with the underside of it too much!)

Good job Bugsy!

I'm like you Mark, I'd rather it just come off clean if it had to rather than hang on and possibly get caught on something.  I'm very glad to hear that it isn't tender.  I closed my thumb in a car door when I was grade school age and it was such a relief when the nail finally fell off.  It didn't hurt at all when it came off and the nail grew back stronger than ever.

Yep, was hoping it wasn't going to spend months "hanging on" .. but it's gone and he's happy with it, so it's an all-around win.

Glad to hear Bugsy is feeling better.  I am sure he feels better now that the nail has fallen off.

He's probably thrilled about the "blue thing being gone from his life." Good to hear he's on his feet again!

Good news for all of you - that he is recovering well and that the nail is gone.

Well he's now at the point where you wouldn't know it even happened.  Quite happily totally back to normal, long walks, long naps, you know how it goes being a pug and all ...
