Hooper (aka Harvey) - 1.5 year old fawn male

Foster Update - April 27

I am pleased to be able to help out Pugalug Pug Rescue by taking on our first pug foster, Harvey. Since this name has already been taken at our home we felt a change would be best. We've already started calling him Hooper.

It's only been one day, but I thought I would let everyone know that he is doing very well. Also, I'm sure pictures are in order so I have attached a couple here. Mr. Hooper is clearly a bucket of happiness & energy. He definitely has some work to do in the potty training department; he lifts his little leg all over the show. I am confident that with the help of my own doggie crew, we will make great strides in teaching him how things work.

We will make an appt. with the doc this week to see about Hooper's overall wellbeing and whether we will be able to schedule his neuter.

Many thanks to Emma and Tim for delivering the little doll to our doorstep and sending him along with all kind of food, toys, gear and supplies. Much appreciated!

Hooper is enjoying the backyard & sunshine and wearing out the resident dogs. He is fast!
Bye for now,

Lesley & Hooper

Introduction Update - April 25

Harvey is a wonderful, loving dog who loves walks, playing and sleeping. He is very social and adores hugs, kisses and cuddles. He does need some obedience training and some reinforcement for potty training. Although he sleeps through the night, he will mark indoors when stressed. This stress seems to be a form of separation anxiety and is accompanied by continual barking when he is left alone. Because of the barking, he is being moved from an apartment foster situation to a single family dwelling with a foster mum who is home during the day. He is good with other dogs and fine with cats.

Harvey was diagnosed when young with respiratory issues which precluded his being neutered. However, he has been off medication for a year now and the vet has recommended we go ahead with the surgery. Harvey also has symptoms of allergies which we feel will be rectified now that he is off food with grains. His fur has already become softer and fuller.

Introduction - April 19

Harvey is an owner surrender. We will have pictures and an introduction in a couple of days once he has settled into his foster home
