Madison - 4 1/2 year old female

Madison's Foster Buddies:

  • Jessica Morris
Happy Tails, June 4, 2010

Madison has made a comfortable transition to her new home. She is a such a gentle, calm, loving dog, following us everywhere and hopping onto our laps whenever we sit down.

We have renamed her Dolly Madison, partly because she is so sweet, but also because of the close similarity of name to our cat Madeline.

She loves her walks and has already played with a few of the dogs in our neighborhood. We think that Dolly Madison is the perfect dog. Thank you for helping us find her.

Adopted! May 31, 2010

Madison packed her bags and 'headed west' with her new family Jane and Peter. We can expect an adopter update in a few days.

Adoption Pending!

Madison is an absolute gem! She is an affectionate girl who loves to be with her people. She is never far from me regardless of my activity (although food prep is her favourite since veggies frequently 'fall from the heavens'). She is always ready for fun, whether it be an outing to the park, a nice walk, visiting with the neighbours or just having quality time with a good bone.

Madison takes treats very gently and walks well on a lead. She knows 'sit' and is getting better at 'come'. She can be vocal when I'm not serving meals or passing out treats quickly enough.

She is not destructive or overly noisy but will bark (especially at animal noises or some bell sounds from TV or computer).

Madison is used to being left for 4-5 hours and can 'hold it' with no problem. I usually return to find her sleeping with my gang or waiting with them at the gate. She is also fine over night. Madison is a big cuddler and loves to sit on my lap in the evening or lie across the top of the sofa cushions and rest her head on my shoulder.

Foster Update, March 13, 2010

Madison continues to be a delightful house guest. With the exception of a mild UTI (urinary tract infection), the vet says she's in perfect health. She will be on antibiotics for the next two weeks which will hopefully clear things up. In the meantime, she continues to enjoy lying on the back of the couch, going for walks and hanging around with 'her boy'.

Introduction, February 14, 2010

Madison is a 4 1/2 year old owner surrender and an absolute joy to have around. She walked through the door and greeted my gang like long lost friends. 'Maddy' is a little over weight, but since she LOVES walks and follows me when I go up and down the stairs, I imagine she will have her girlish figure back by swim suit season. She also makes some interesting sounds that range from a coo to what I can only describe as a pig sniffing out truffles. Madison is spayed and appears in good health and will be going to the vet for a check up and microchipping.
