Current Volunteer Positions - Summer 2024
Pugalug is currently recruiting for the following volunteer positions. These are year-round positions that work closely with the Pugalug Board of Directors. Pugalug volunteers are required to be 18 years of age or older.

1. Events Coordinator This volunteer position manages all Pugalug fundraising and awareness events by planning, budgeting, and executing the delivery of events, as determined and overseen by the Pugalug Board of Directors. This includes our year round meetup events like Pugoween, Pug Claws, and Running of the Pugs as well as third-party events such as Woofstock.
This role is responsible for:

Securing an appropriate location, vendors if appropriate and seeing that the event is promoted by working in conjunction with the social media people.

Ensuring that the Volunteer Coordinator knows how many volunteers are needed, when and with what skill sets.

Ensuring that volunteers have access to whatever technology is needed for vendors/sales.
Onsite at Pugalug events:
-
Ensure space is secured for Pugalug Events.

Notify Volunteer Coordinator of staffing needs for event.

Ensure vendors are contacted and aware of date and location.
-
Ensure raffle items, auction items get to the event.
-
Ensure cash boxes have an appropriate float.
-
Ensure all forms for event are available.

Ensure passwords for online purchases (Square) are known and available.

Ensure Board of Directors have approved the events and report the events outcomes (attendance, net and gross, etc.) and money deposited or given to person responsible.
Third-party Events:

Ensure applications filled out and signed by appropriate persons.

Insurance will cover the event and location.

Approved of by Board in advance.

Ensure fees for said participation are paid.

Notify Volunteer Coordinator regarding staffing needs.

Ensure set-up and take-down volunteers are able and ready.

Ensure equipment arrives at the event location.
General Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure the location of the events is acceptable to the Board. (Some locations will not be covered by insurance).

Ensure that Web person and Fundraising/Marketing person is aware of events and any sign-up forms that need to be created and posted.

Ensure any liability issues have been addressed.

Work with other coordinators as needed.

Auction Basket/ Online Auction Coordinator
2. 2. Raffle Basket & Auction Coordinator
This role is responsible for:

Preparing raffle baskets and/or Supervising/overseeing volunteers who may assist in the preparation of raffle baskets.

Collecting and storing items for raffle baskets, silent auctions and online auctions.

Ensuring that silent auction items and raffle baskets get to events where they will be featured (largely Pugalug events that are held at Doggie Playland Inc. in Etobicoke, but may also be needed for Woofstock type events).

Maintaining an adequate supply of baskets and supplies for baskets.

Communicating with events coordinator, board members etc. regarding upcoming events and basket/ auction requirements.
