LEON
Neutered Male
DOB: 2021

STATUS: IN FOSTER CARE

INTRODUCTION - MAY 18, 2025

Meet Our New Arrival – Leon.  Toronto Animal Services recently reached out to us about a sweet four-year-old fawn pug in need of a safe place to land — and that’s how Leon came into our care.

Leon had been found in a park and left behind — a heartbreaking beginning for a dog who clearly just wants to be close to someone. Understandably, Leon is still a bit nervous and unsure of the world around him. At his foster home, he startles easily and flinches at quick movements, but he reveals a gentle and affectionate nature when given space to approach on his terms. He’s what we lovingly call a velcro pug in the making — eager to bond, once he knows he’s safe.

He appears underweight right now; you can feel every rib and vertebra. His foster family has also noticed some hair loss on his tail and scarring around his neck — likely from a collar worn too tightly or for too long. He’s eating slowly and cautiously, but we’re confident that with time, good nutrition, and loving care, he’ll begin to thrive.

Thanks to TAS, Leon is already neutered and fully vaccinated, so he can spend the next few weeks doing exactly what he needs most: decompressing, resting, and adjusting to a life where he’s finally safe. He has been enjoying the company of the two resident pugs and even snuggled up with one of them - they shared a dog bed, and it was the sweetest! We’ll share more updates as Leon continues to settle in. For now, we’re just grateful he’s out of harm’s way and on the path to healing.
