SEYMORE
Neutered Male
DOB: NOV 2011
STATUS: IN THE PUG ABODE

FOSTER UPDATE - JANUARY 19, 2026
Seymore is doing wonderfully and continues to be a joyful presence in his foster home. He is a cheerful, funny, and charming boy, and his foster family says it has been a long time since they’ve had such a genuinely happy dog in their care. They are truly grateful to have him.
Seymore enjoys the company of other dogs and recently attended a pug meetup in Hamilton, where he had a fantastic time socializing. He even met Pugalug alumni Sweetpea! 🐾
Seymore has been steadily losing weight, which is helping relieve stress on his joints (even if he feels strongly that smaller portions are deeply unfair 😉). While he was hesitant about new foods when he first arrived, he has since embraced his inner foodie. Mango, oranges, salmon skin — if it’s not too hard to chew, Seymore is all in! He’s also known to inspect shopping bags and pockets in search of special treats.
At night, Seymore sleeps in his own special little bed beside the big bed. Because he wakes up quickly, this setup helps prevent any accidental tumbles. On non-work days, he enjoys some big-bed snuggles…though sometimes breakfast takes priority over cuddling! 🥰
Seymore is very much a homebody. Aside from short outings like the pug party, he prefers being at home where he feels most comfortable. After time away, he needs a bit to regulate his emotions and may express his displeasure with a protest poop — Seymore likes his routine!
Medically, Seymore has several age-related conditions, including small nares, a collapsing trachea, and chronic bronchitis. He also has only five teeth and some growths, all of which are being closely monitored by his veterinarian. Given Seymore’s age (14) and delicate breathing, Pugalug — in consultation with his vet — has decided to focus on managing symptoms and maintaining comfort rather than pursuing surgery. Seymore receives medication and supplements to support the best possible quality of life.
Despite his medical challenges, Seymore continues to enjoy life, love food, and spread joy wherever he goes. 💛
FOSTER UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 23, 2025
Pugalug has made sure that Seymore’s street wandering days are behind him. 🐾
14-year-old Seymore is a very well-rounded guy and has adjusted to his foster home. He loves to snuggle 🤗, engages politely with other dogs 🐶, likes to try new food 🍲 and has a good sense of humour. He often asks to go potty and then runs away hoping to be chased and carried outside 😂. Seymore has gotten comfortable in his foster home quite quickly and shows more of his silly self every day.
Seymore has been seen by his new doctor and is generally healthy. He needs to lose weight; he has a growth on his eyelid that may need to be removed. Seymore has a cough that is being treated with antibiotics and a chronic ear infection. Seymore is now up to date on his vaccinations. 💉
Seymore seems to have had a good life with someone who loved him. It is our honour to make sure Seymore continues to live well and be loved. ❤️🐾
INTRODUCTION - AUGUST 30, 2025
Meet sweet gentleman Seymore who will be 14 in November. He was found wandering and taken to a vet clinic to check his microchip. When his owner informed that he was unable to take him back due to his own ill health, the clinic reached out to Pugalug. A preliminary check by that clinic suggests that he is in good health for his age apart from reduced mobility and eye issues. He has bilateral corneal scarring and conjunctivitis in his left eye due to an eye mass which is inoperable due to his age. We look forward to getting to know him and providing the love and care he so richly deserves.
