Lola is still a somewhat young pug and as such still very much enjoys running around the yard,
going for long walks and playing with toys. She enjoys equal measure of being near her people
as well as taking space to have quiet time when the mood strikes her. Lola enjoys meeting new
people, but tends to get a bit overstimulated and will initially bark at new people and
experiences. It only takes her a moment to calm down, but her bark can be a bit piercing. She
likes being included in anything her people are doing.
She loves to go on car rides and seeing new things. She does really love other dogs, but needs a slow i introduction and preferably a dog that is non-reactive to her particular brand of charm and shrill barking.
Lola is not afraid of loud noises, thunderstorms or any of the things that dogs tend to be
frightened of. However, she does like to bark at thunderstorms as she feels that she is able to
control the weather. She can be vocal when someone comes to the door or when she hears
another dog start to bark. She likes to join in to show solidarity.
Lola needs to stay with her brother Mr Peepers. While she is the more independent of the two,
she needs to have him in her sight at all times. She is also welcoming of other dogs as well so
they could go to a home that already has a resident dog or cat. Lola also loves to be near her
people and enjoys a good pet or massage, but she is not a typical Velcro pug. She doesn't love
being picked up, but she will tolerate it if needed.
She has learned to use the pet stairs in her foster home and loves to use them to get on and off of the human beds. Lola is house-broken and will ask to go out. She also learns routines very well and once she understands when meal-times are and when she gets to go outside, she will start to anticipate it. She also loves to try new treats and is food-motivated, but in terms of eating her meals, she is a grazer.
Although she can be a bit reactive, Lola is generally a sweet girl who calms down quickly. She
loves her brother and both of them are looking for a forever family that has room in their family
for a playful and cuddly duo.
FOSTER UPDATE - JUNE 16, 2025
Lola is officially done with all her vetting! She's completed her Lyme treatment and is now fully up to date on her vaccinations. With her health all taken care of, Lola has been busy settling into her foster home like she’s lived there forever. She sleeps under the covers on the big bed every night and has become a total cuddle pro. Her love for Copacabana is unmatched—sing it to her and she’ll treat you to a full-body wiggle dance. She adores doing laps in the yard and has a lot to say about anything that disrupts her peace. She is a little doll who has an absolute zest for life.
FOSTER UPDATE - MAY 16, 2025
Lola loves it when you sing Copacabana to her. She breaks out into a full-body wiggle that is pure joy. She is a very tiny girl with a giant personality. She loves to go for walks and patrol her kingdom. She also loves to cuddle and sleeps under the covers at night. She loves the resident, assertively affectionate cat and plays along with the forced cuddle time he requires. She has been to the vet for her physical and first shots. As part of his routine screening, she tested positive for Lyme exposure. Thankfully, she has no symptoms and is doing great—she’s just finishing up a course of antibiotics as a precaution. Her prognosis is excellent.
She was a rock star at the vet and very much enjoyed the treats the vet provided.
