Pugalug Rescue #367 - George

George has officially been a member of the family for about 6 weeks (but it’s been 4 months since he arrived as a foster). We have loved every minute. This boy fits in like he’s always been here.

George is definitely a play machine and has such patience and good sportsmanship with his dog siblings. There are many personalities in this house and George navigates beautifully among them all. George also likes his skinny pig brothers (guinea pigs) but he may like them too much, if you know what I mean. He thinks they’re great fun to watch from a distance, though. He also has made some loving relationships with a few humans. He still adores his grandma and she dotes on him during every visit.

George was recently weaned off his anxiety medication. He still reacts to strangers but we are making steps in the right direction. The hardest part is finding counter-conditioning opportunities with his anti-social mom. But George loves doing any kind of training.

There is so much to love about this dog. Truly, I could write a book about it. But my favourite thing is the cuddles. As pug people know, pugs can cuddle like they’re being paid to do it. George, however, has perfected the activity. He somehow respects your space while snuggling and holding on with his little paws. It melts me. My second favourite thing is the hair eating. He continues to sneak up behind me, as quietly as a mouse, and grab the flyaways. I still laugh every single time!

I didn’t know what to expect when George first arrived but I never expected to hit the dog jackpot. This is truly OUR happy tail.
